Harrisburg, PA - (September 2005) For the fourth consecutive year, The Benecon Group has been named one of the "Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies" by the Central PA Business Journal. The honor is given to those companies that have made significant contributions to the growth, strength and success of the Central Pennsylvania region. Benecon ranked #16 on the list, which was announced during the 9th Annual Awards Breakfast held Sept. 28th at the Hilton Harrisburg & Towers.
To qualify for nomination, companies had to show revenue of at least $500,000 in each of the fiscal years ending 2002, 2003 and 2004 and show revenue growth in 2004 as compared to 2002; a three-year period. The for-profit companies also had to be headquartered in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry or York County. Nominees were then ranked according to revenue growth over the three year period, where both dollar and percentage increases were taken into consideration. This ranking formula, implemented by Seligman, Friedman & Company P.C., led to recognition of the Top Fifty ranking of both large and small companies.
In addition to the awards breakfast, the Top Fifty companies were also featured in a special supplement to the Central Penn Business Journal, giving readers a close-up look at the businesses shaping the future of the region's economy.
